Exterra at Sea

There are many reasons for choosing to live on a house boat anchored at an ocean marina. When you wake up in the morning, you don’t have to go far to go fishing; then there is no more lawn mowing, the marina atmosphere and neighbours, and the freedom to cruise whenever you feel the urge. And one might also have thought there would be no need to worry about subterranean termites, after all, they are not known to be aquatic!

“When I arrived at the Marina, I discovered this was a house boat that has never left the water, and is usually tied up to a floating jetty, with no ground contact. So it was a bit of surprise to confirm that the termites were most definitely Coptotermes acinaciformis. They were nesting deep inside the hull and, due to the structure of the boat, it was impossible to access the actual colony. It was clearly essential that we eliminate the nest, so the obvious solution was the Exterra Termite Colony Elimination System.
